These treats are famously Baltimore, and elicit oohs and ahs when mentioned in the company of anyone who has ever had one. With Baltimore in Super Bowl XLVII, I thought I would take this opportunity to invent a gluten-free, dairy-free Berger Cookie, and even make it purple to cheer on the home team!

I’ve topped my brownies this time with a creamy frosting, colored purple to pair with chocolatey black as a celebration of my hometown team as they march into the Super Bowl this weekend — but you could leave these treats unadorned. They are just that good.
